Lymphedema when lymph nodes are removed
March 15, 2020When lymph nodes are removed or damaged due to cancer treatment it can block the lymphatic system. Your lymphatic system is part of the immune and circulatory system.
Swelling in the arm or leg that may be presenting discomfort , heaviness or pain. The blockage prevents lymph fluid from draining well and fluid build up leads to swelling.
Signs
- Swelling in limbs
- Tightness and heaviness in limbs
- Range of motion restricted
- Small cuts or scratches can turn into infection very quickly
- Aching or discomforts
- Thickening of tissue
If you have symptoms like these then lymphatic drainage is the treatment you need. This moves the fluid, reduces the heaviness, discomfort and pain in the limbs.
